On September 16, the Carpathian Foundation conducted a training for participants of the EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. The event was dedicated to the study of the Slovak experience in implementing micro-projects aimed at various aspects of early childhood development. Slovak colleagues, Laura Dittel, Maria Haz, Tomasz Torok, described the general situation with children in the Slovakia’s Roma communities, pointed out the main challenges and problems in this area. Particular attention was paid to approaches to early childhood development used in Slovakia, in particular grant programs aimed at supporting organizations working directly in Roma communities. Eleonora Niptakova, the head of the Childhood for Children project, spoke in detail about the practical methods and tools of work in the field of early child development, namely: the activities of the children’s center, work with families at home, girls ’club, organization of special events. The participants of the training had the opportunity to communicate with Slovak colleagues, learn more about the nuances of practical work with children of Roma communities in Slovakia.
